| Temporary Visas A temporary visa is an authorized official document secured by foreigners from visa offices overseas which declare that they have fulfilled the requirements to gain entry to a particular country. With regard to Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is the country's department which has the authority to issue temporary visas and allow foreigners to Canada for studying, working, or visiting purposes. If you should decide to get a temporary visa, whatever the purpose may be, the first thing to do is to fill up an application form. This form may be downloaded from the Internet or obtained from the Canadian embassy in your country. As a word of advice, you have to be very particular in following the set of specifications given with regard to the photo to be attached to the application form. The photo has to be new, clear, unmodified, and the size of the photo must be correct. Furthermore, after completing and submitting the application form to the designated visa office, it is expected of you to meet a set of requirements. First, you have to give printed proof of financial stability on your side, such as bank account statements or business certificates. Secondly, you have to provide documentation which tells that you are authorized to work or study in Canada . Next, you must supply a certification, say a police clearance, which shows that you are clear of any existing record of criminal offenses. In a case wherein you have a record of such nature, Canadian immigration lawyers can be consulted. Moving on, you also have to give a medical certificate confirming your good health. Lastly, you have to produce additional documents which the officer may need to verify your application. You also have to be aware that the payment for a particular amount for the processing fee is required. In addition to this, the safest time to apply for a temporary visa is at least four weeks before your desired date of departure. Another important thing to take note of is that foreigners who have acquired temporary visas are not completely assured of entry to the country. An officer present at the port of entry will still have the decision whether or not the person holding the visa has met the admission requirements upon his arrival.
